5 Vegan Cooking Tips That You Wish You Knew Before

Posted on

Lets face it; not everyboy likes to cook, but everybody loves food. It's as simple as that. So in this article we're going to share 7 vegan cooking tips with you that will increase the quality of your food without spending anymore time in the kitchen. Double the pleasure, for less the time!

1. Olive Oil

Olive oil can be used in a variety of dishes. It can really bring out the flavors of a dish without the need of adding any artificial flavors. For example, it can be combined with hummus, which tastes wonderful! Try it, and let us know how about your experience!

2. World Spices are mandatory

Making your own spices means making your own food tastier. Go on an adventure and experiment. Don't just follow the label on how to prepare your food. Especially, with vegan food, there's a lot of room to be creative! Maybe add some spices to your sweet potatoes or to your tofu! After you're done, the best way to store spices is to store them in glass jars in a cool dark place and use within a month or two.

3. Nuts and seeds

Nuts and seeds can be used through your tofu, through a mix of vegetables or to be used through a mix of spices. They are full of valuable nutrients such as protein, the right fats and low in simple carbs. So there is some truth to the whole crunchy granola side of veganism, but trust me; they're so good for you!

4. Build monk bowls

A tip from Chef Mark Reinfeld, co-author of The 30-Minute Vegan and The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Eating Raw: Learn to look at recipes as formulas with different interchangeable parts, he says. “By changing an ingredient in a component part, you can create a new recipe and allows you to use whatever ingredients you have on hand. This also allows you to break out of the recipe box. For instance, if you see a recipe for broccoli soup, the broccoli can be viewed as the ‘vegetable component’ of the dish that may be replaced with other veggies you happen to have on hand.”

5. You can use Vegan Cheese

Yes, vegan cheese does exist and it taste good. Excuse me, it tastes great! Great vegan cheese brands are Daiya and Follow your heart. Cheese literally goes with anything; veggie mix, vegan meat, rice, pasta etcetera! And unlike the non-vegan cheese, vegan cheese is healthy!

As you can see, these vegan cooking tips are concise and very practical. You can just go to your local grocerie store and start experimenting!
