The new vegan pizza, the Vegan Supreme, will be available in select stores, according to the pizza chain.
The chain’s first vegan offering in the UK is made with vegan crust, peppers, corn, mushrooms, tomatoes and dairy-free cheese, and is reportedly offered on the restaurant’s delivery app as well - an option originally pointed out by people on Twitter.
On social media, the brand confirmed the plant-based pizza is available in 43 stores across the UK, and that it can be ordered “in most major cities including London, Liverpool, Bristol, Leeds and Newcastle.”
According to the chain, the vegan pizza is part of “a trial in September to help us gain customer feedback.”
Of the decision to release a vegan version, a Domino’s spokesperson told VegNews: “We want as many people as possible to enjoy the great taste of Domino’s and the appetite for us to offer a vegan pizza has continued to grow.
“We’re delighted to say we’ve developed the Vegan Supreme in response to this, which we think will hit the spot. The ‘Vegendary’ pizza is in trial across a few stores in September to help us get as much feedback on the product as possible.”
Domino’s recently released three vegan pizzas in Australia after a poll revealed a high demand for the plant-based versions.
The Australian versions feature cheese from the vegan brand Follow Your Heart, whereas the UK version is reportedly made using dairy-free cheese from Bute Island Foods, according to VegNews.
