Canada has gotten its first all-vegan vending machine in Whistler, British Columbia.
Whistler’s Green Moustache Organic Café is providing healthy, on-the-go foods, including organic and gluten-free options, for the new vending machine, reports Veggie Athletic. The vending machine offers healthy plant-based food like raw pad thai, turmeric ginger cheesecake, and collard wraps.
“We are excited to launch this approach in our hometown,” said the Green Moustache’s chief strategy officer, Geoff Telfer, according to the company’s blog.
“Unlike the traditional vending machine model, we are re-stocking daily with freshly prepared meals and snacks,” Teller said. “We believe these modern vending machines are an efficient and sustainable way to expand our reach and to further our mission of bringing health-promoting, nutritious food to every neighbourhood.”
The Green Mustache also has plans to place more healthy vending machines across Canada, in places like schools and hospitals, to offer a nutritious alternative to traditional vending machines.
“With most vending machines out there offering highly processed, unhealthy snack foods, our vending machine is a much-needed alternative that provides people with quick and tasty meals without compromising on nutrition and quality,” explained Green Moustache Juice Co Inc. founder and CEO Nicolette Richer.
